I took a photograph of Carton avenue in 2020, from a corner, half-way down the path and under one of the trees. Carton avenue is a unique tree-lined path amidst majestic trees, and it connects Maynooth town main street to one of the entrances of Carton Estate (now Carton Hotel). I took this photo on an early morning walk, it really struck me the two friends who were huddled together walking down the path, and their friendship was palbalbe and they looked beautiful against the early spring morning. It was cold but everything in nature was sparkling, coming out of the winter and ready for growth. I then worked with my special effects techniques in the computer over a period of several days, creating many different types of results until I arrived at this one. It was when the intense yellow formed around the sun and the spire and the vividness of some of the green that really made the avenue scene go to an extraordinary place. The digital image has been carefully printed to the highest quality giclée print for you to enjoy.
